cadets

The Cadet Forces in the East Midlands offer young people the opportunity to become involved in exciting training in a disciplined environment. The Cadet Forces are not part of the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force but are National voluntary youth organisations sponsored by the MOD. There is no requirement to deploy on operations nor is there any compulsion to join the Services.

Cadet Adult Volunteers – Take the Challenge

Adults over 18 years old can become Cadet Leaders. Prior military training is not essential as they will be trained to instruct the Cadets in the subjects and skills that the Cadet Syllabus contains. They will help to instill in the youngsters a sense of discipline, self esteem and achievement that comes from working as part of a successful team. Whilst the Cadet Forces are a voluntary youth movement the adults can also receive a number of days pay and, where appropriate, out of pocket expenses.

Adult instructors must hold a Criminal Record Bureau (Enhanced) disclosure. They have to be committed enough to give up one or two evenings a week, a weekend every month or so and attend a two weeks annual camp in the summer. They have to be prepared to learn new skills and achieve qualifications which can lead to many different awards, all of which will enhance their CVs.
