Join the army cadet force as an Instructor

Every week, in local detachments throughout Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire Army Cadets between the ages of 12 and 18 learn new skills and take on exciting challenges in activities such as adventure training, sport, military training, fieldcraft and shooting.

The Army Cadet Force (ACF) is one of the largest youth organisations in the UK, helping 46,000 young people, from a variety of backgrounds develop personally and physically, under the guidance of 8,000 volunteer adult leaders. Typically most detachments parade two nights a week and units conduct a number of weekend trainings sessions throughout the year as well as an annual camp which will range from 8-14 days.

We’re not part of the Army. We are however, sponsored and funded by the Army with a similar uniform and the same rank structure. More importantly it’s a positive, inspiring environment where cadets develop the qualities they need to succeed in life, from self-discipline and self-sufficiency, to time-keeping and achieving goals. You don’t need any military experience, although we do find that many of our instructors are in fact ex regulars or TA soldiers.

Now the ACF is seeking the next generation of leaders to make their mark. We need men and women we can trust with the responsibility for the safety and development of our young cadets.

Are you ready to lead the way?
