By day I work in the office ...with the Territorial Army I fight the Taliban

 

At first glance they are an everyday group of women, holding down jobs in finance, medicine and market research.

But they also serve in the Territorial Army, as a vital part of Britain’s reserve forces.

In light of recent Army cuts, the importance of a powerful TA has been underpinned by a Government investment package worth an extra £1.8m.

By 2020 it is hoped TA numbers will grow from 31,680 to 120,000, with a regular staff-to-reserve ratio of 70:30.

At the moment 15 per cent of TA members are women – a figure that service leaders want to see increasing..........
